Chris Ridgway Misses Win by 34 Seconds at VORRA Desert Race and He Prepares for 2010 X-Games as Reigning Gold Medalist 1

APPLE
VALLEY, CA
– July 21, 2010:  Chris
Ridgway participated in last weekends VORRA (Valley Off Road Racing
Association) Fallon 250 desert race in the Trent Fab buggy and placed 2nd
by a mere 34 seconds.  “It was a fast
course, and we had no issues until the last lap when we got a flat.  When we got out to change it, we had
lost the tool kit that had the lug wrench in it!  We jumped back in and had to run 20 miles on the Raceline
Wheel to the next pit where one of our competitor’s pit crews changed it for
us,” said Ridgway.  “While in the
pits, we got passed for the lead and had to drive the last 10 miles at warp
speed, but it wasn’t enough.”

            This
was Ridgway’s first time driving at night, but he had no issues with shadows
due to the two beaming Rigid light bars on the car.  The Trent Fab buggy performed flawlessly on this 250 mile
course with the Griffin Radiator keeping the car cool in the July 100 plus
desert temperatures.

Ridgway also rides dirt bikes and is
working towards capturing his 3rd Adaptive MotoX Gold Medal at the
2010 Summer X-Games in Los Angeles, CA on July 29, 2010.  Riding his 2010 RMZ450, Ridgway will take
on the X-Games amazing track with insane jumps.  “Last year the finish line jump was by far the biggest jump
I have ever done in my life.  I
lost my leg from a jump gone bad,” commented Ridgway.  “But instead of walking away, it is pushing me to work that
much harder.”

The Adaptive
Moto-X games will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the L.A. Coliseum in
Los Angeles, CA.  For a schedule of

About Chris Ridgway – Chris Ridgway is an amputee and competes
wearing a prosthetic left leg.  His
professional motocross career was cut short in 1995 when he had a “bad day at
the office” falling from over 30 ft in the air and has since struggled to
maintain strength in both his legs. After eight years, he finally convinced a
doctor to amputate his left leg and is now stronger than ever.
His competitive spirit
originated with motocross and now he competes in many different events,
including motocross, Rock Racing, King of the Hammers, Grand Am Rolex Series,
the Silver State Classic, and Baja 1000.
Some of his impressive wins include the X Games Gold Medalist: 2008,
2009; and the Extremity Games Gold Medalist: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.
