Casey Edmondson Selected as 2009 Miss Supercross

AURORA, Ill. (December 12, 2009) – Feld Motor Sports announced today that Casey Edmondson, of Gilbert, Ariz., was selected to be Miss Supercross and will begin her 2009 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, campaign at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., January 3.

Edmondson, whose scholastic ambition is to obtain a double major in fitness and public relations, is currently enrolled at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. A huge fan of the sport, Edmondson grew up around supercross/motocross and is also a huge fan of her brother Cody, who is a successful amateur motocross racer. Along with her family, Edmondson travels to all of the top amateur races to show her support and passion for the sport.

“Racing is a part of my life and becoming the 2009 Miss Supercross is a great way to show my passion for the sport,” said Edmondson. “I am a very family-oriented person and racing has allowed me to connect family with my favorite sport. I always knew I wanted to be involved with supercross and winning the Miss Supercross contest has given me the opportunity.”

After campaigning for the position over the past two months, Edmondson was shocked when she received the news.

“When I received the call to say that I won the Miss Supercross contest, I hit the floor,” added Edmondson. “I have never had anything so exciting happen to me in my life. This is going to be a great experience, and I look forward to meeting the great fans of the sport.”

With an array of great experiences ahead of her, Edmondson says that it’s the highly anticipated Anaheim 1 race that she looks forward to.

“I have gone to every race in Phoenix since I was 9-years old, but I have never gone to Anaheim 1. I have taped it, watched it live on television, but I have never been there. This year is going to be so competitive with Ryan Villopoto moving up to the premier class and the new rule that allows the Lites class guys to race their bikes in the AMA Supercross class.”
