CBS Sports to Air One-Hour Amp'd Mobile Supercross Preview Show

AURORA, Ill. (December 27, 2006) – A one-hour show on CBS Sports will showcase the 2006-’07 season of Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series this Saturday, December 30, at 5:00 p.m. EST – giving fans a first hand look at the current season, in addition to highlights of last year’s storied season.

The show will take fans back to the greatest supercross season in history, recapping the epic battle between Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael, Kawasaki’s James Stewart and Yamaha’s Chad Reed that went down as the tightest points race ever culminated at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium in May. Stewart walked away with his first ever Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP championship and Carmichael his fifth AMA Supercross championship.

After the two highly dramatic season-beginning races in Toronto and Vancouver, fans couldn’t ask for a better start to another stellar season. Reed claimed victory in Toronto as Carmichael picked up the win in Vancouver. With riders like Suzuki’s Ivan Tedesco, who missed Toronto and Vancouver with an injured hand, Honda’s Kevin Windham and Yamaha’s Grant Langston returning for Anaheim 1, the racing on January 6 should be as strong as ever as they challenge for the top positions along with David Vuillemin, Tim Ferry, Nathan Ramsey, Michael Byrne, and Davi Millsaps.

“We debuted the season preview show on CBS Sports last year, and are excited to work with CBS Sports again this year to offer fans an in-depth look at the current season,“ said Ken Hudgens, vice president of marketing and television. “The starting gate for Anaheim 1 will be as deep as ever, and the preview show this Saturday will capture the story lines that will continue to unfold this season in addition to touching on last year’s ‘points-race for the ages.”

CBS Sports will broadcast seven hours of racing along with the preview show and a season finale show. SPEED will broadcast all 17 Amp’d Mobile Supercross races.

Anaheim 1 will air live for the first time ever Saturday, January 6, 2007 on SPEED.
