Bel-Ray Race Report – St Louis Supercross Wrap Up

Round 14 of The Monster Energy Supercross series took place on Saturday night
at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. After a difficult race the
prior week in Dallas, both Bel-Ray sponsored teams were ready for redemption.

TwoTwo Motorsports / Bel-Ray Racing’s Chad Reed started the evening well.
Reed set the 6th fastest time in the evening’s qualifying with a 48.979
lap time and followed that up with a 5th place in his heat race. Dodge
Motorsports / Hart and Huntington / Bel-Ray Racing’s Ivan Tedesco and
Chris Blose were both in the top of the field as well. Tedesco was 8th in timed
qualifying with a 49.558” lap time and Blose was 11th with a fast lap of
50.069. Tedesco grabbed the holeshot and early lead in his heat race and held
on to 3rd place, while Blose rode to a consistent 8th place in his heat race.
All 3 Bel-Ray racers went on to the main event.

The main event began with Tedesco getting another great start and the Nuclear
Cowboyz Holeshot award. He led the first lap of the main event and was trying
to put a lead on the field. Reed was inside the top 5 and Blose sat in 10th
place after lap 1. Tedesco slipped back to second and then third. When Tedesco
tweaked his already injured knee, both Reed and Ryan Villopoto got by and began
their own battle for third place. Reed was putting in consistent lap times
until he landed on a tuff block that was in the middle of the track, allowing
Villopoto to get by. Reed recovered quickly, but the damage was already done as
Villopoto opened up a small lead on the TwoTwo Motorsports racer. By the end of
the 20 lap main event, Reed could not catch the top 3 and had to settle for a
4th place finish. Tedesco finished 8th and Blose was 12th when the checkered
flag fell.

With only 3 rounds left, Reed is in 3rd in the points standings, just 8 points
behind the series leader, Villopoto. Tedesco is in 10th and Blose is in 14th.
