Bel-Ray Los Angeles Race Report

Round 3 of the Monster Energy Supercross Series took place at historic Dodger
Stadium on Saturday night, January 22nd.  Bel-Ray backed race teams, Two
Two Motorsports and Dodge Motorsports Hart and Huntington racing were on hand,
intent on bettering their round 2 performances from Phoenix Arizona a week
before.

Qualifying went well for the riders with Two Two Motorsports’ Chad Reed
setting the 6th fastest time with a 53.017, followed by Dodge Motorsports /
Hart & Huntington teammates Ivan Tedesco in 9th with a 53.222 and Chris
Blose in 17th with a 54.582.

In heat race qualifying action, it would be Reed in 3rd and Tedesco in 4th.
Blose missed the cut in the second qualifying heat and had to make the
main event via his second place in the Last Chance Qualifier.

Both Tedesco and Reed went down at the start of the main event, with Blose too
suffering from a poor start. Reed got up and started his charge to the front to
salvage points for the season long points chase. He was 19th at the end of lap
1 and 15th by the end of lap 5. Methodically, he began picking off riders one
at a time. He was in 10th with only 7 laps left and by the end of the main event,
he was 7th place, salvaging some points in his hunt for the championship. Blose
worked his way up to 14th by the end of the race and Tedesco, who was under his
bike from the first lap crash, soldiered on for a 19th place finish at the end
of the night.

All 3 Bel-Ray riders were again in the evenings main event and although luck
wasn’t on their side this night, they are all still in the Top 15 in the
seasons points standings.

Bel-Ray will be posting updates Saturday night from the upcoming Oakland round
on their Twitter Feed and Facebook page as well as their website www.belray.com .

You can see TV coverage of both Bel-Ray backed teams in action Sunday afternoon
on CBS at 12:00 pm EST.
