Blake Baggett came into Red Bud on the gas. He set the pace early on and posted the fastest overall lap time in morning practice.

As his Dunlop tires dug into the Michigan soil, Blake rounded the first turn in moto 1 inside the top five. He didn’t let off the gas, making the pass to put himself into 3rdplace. He then put the pressure on as he made the pass for 2nd place with five minutes to go. Blake then put on a signature charge for the lead as he was the fastest rider on the track in the final stages of the race. He closed in to within one second of the leader at the end of the moto to take 2nd place.

The explosive power of his FMF exhaust system allowed Blake to launch off the gate in moto 2 and grab the holeshot. His moto went downhill before the end of the first lap as contact with another rider sent Blake to the ground. He remounted, pulled a tear-off from his Scott goggles and proceeded to charge his way through the field. In the end, Blake worked his way to 10th place at the checkered flag. His 2-10 ride earned him 4th place overall.

“I’m happy with how I rode,” said Blake. “The track was my style and I definitely felt fast today, and felt like I had the speed to battle for the overall win.”

Dakota Alix: 18th Place Overall (450MX Class)

The day started behind the eight ball for Dakota, as he was battling an intestinal flu all week. The first moto started deep in the pack, as he would get tangled up in a first turn pile-up that had him charging from the tail end of the field. He put his head down and started charging his way through the competiton. Dakota would find his groove and as the DT-1 filters kept out the Red Bud sand he fought his way to 16th at the end of the moto.

After his hard charge in moto 1, his body was too dehydrated to race the second moto. The team made a decision that it was best for Dakota to sit out moto 2 and get rested up to be on his game at Southwick.

Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS will now head to the sand track of Southwick in Southwick, MA, for round 7 of the 2017 Pro Motocross Championship.
