Babbitt's Monster Energy Kawasaki Winning Strategy

Fort Worth, TX  (February 1, 2007)–  The Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki Race Team understands what it takes to win arenacross championships. The team could wrap up their second consecutive K&N presents BooKoo Arenacross Championship brought to you by Honda this weekend at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Darcy Lange and team manager Denny Bartz have had a plan in place before the start of the season. Try and wrap up the championship prior to the U.S. Open of Arenacross which carries a $100,000.00 purse with $50,000.00 going to the winner. The U.S. Open of Arenacross will be held February 9-11 at the Mohegan Sun Arena, which is also the final round of the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series.

“We want to wrap up the series championship this weekend in Minneapolis,” said Bartz. “With the title won, Darcy can then concentrate on riding to win at the U.S. Open and not have to worry about protecting a point lead.”

After last weekend brilliant performance before a packed house at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, many are predicting Lange to wrap up the series this weekend. Lange increased his already monumental points lead to 111 with 3 wins and 1 second over second-place Tyler Bowers riding for American Honda MDK Performance who placed second behind Lange three times and winning one main event.

"He's beatable at times, but he's just so consistent," said Tyler Bowers. "He's got arenacross figured out – even when he goes down, he is up and back racing always finishing near the top. “

There are several reasons for Lange’s consistency.

For one, he has won previous arenacross championships taking off some of the pressure trying to win his first title. Lange has also matured as a rider. Lange is patient where he hasn't been in the past, while at the same time; he has maintained the level of aggression needed to win in the tough, in-your-face arenacross style of racing.

Lange also has mastered one of the key aspects in winning – not ride over your head. If it is time to take a fifth rather than go down in a heated battle, take a fifth and move on.

Lange also understands he has a great team behind him. The Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki team has provided Lange with world class equipment with support from Kawasaki Motor Corporation and Pro Circuit Racing.

After mid-season it became obvious that the only way Lange would lose the title was to beat himself. He would have to have plenty of that bad racing luck to jeopardize his points lead.

"It's all about not making mistakes at this point," said Lange, who based on last weekends brilliant dominance doesn't seem to be prone to too many mistakes. "That's what we have to do and go from there.”
