Millville, MN (July 20, 2014) –The BTO Sports-KTM-WPS race team headed this weekend to Millville, MN for the eighth round of the 2014 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at the legendary Spring Creek MX Park. Team riders Andrew Short and Matt Goerke would once again have a good weekend, as they charged through the field for another top ten weekend for the team.
Andrew Shortcame in to the weekend ready to tame the whoop monster, as he attacked the Spring Creek track to post 7thfastest timed in qualifying. He would start Moto 1 in the front pack, utilizing the power of hisFMF 4.1RCT exhaust systemto keep him in the heat of the battle. Short would hold on to finish 9that the end of the moto.
In Moto 2, Short would have to work his way up through the field after a mid-pack start. With hisWP Factory Servicessuspension giving him the control to sliced through the field, Short would charge all the way up to 7thby the time the checkered flag flew. His 9-7 score on the day gave him 7thoverall and is currently 8thplace in the Championship points.
“I really liked the track and felt good out there” Short said of his race. “The bike worked well this weekend and I’m looking forward to racing up front in Washougal.”
Matt Goerkefelt confident coming in to Spring Creek, as he used his ODI grips and bars to take control of the track for the 15thfastest time of the day. Matt would start Moto 1 strong, using hisPirelli Scorpion MXtires to carve his way up through the field to finish in the 12thposition by the end of the moto.
In moto 2 Matt would again get off the gate strong, battling his way up to the front. He would race hard and withEngine Icekeeping his race bike running cool in the heat of battle, would better his previous result to finish 11th. His 12-11 score would give him his second 10thoverall of the season and move Matt up another position in the Championship points to 14th.
“I rode strong out there” Matt said of his race. “I’m getting the starts I need to run in the front pack and am looking forward to next week.”
The BTO Sports-KTM-WPS race team heads to the Pacific Northwest for Rd. 9 of the 2014 Pro Motocross Championship Washougal National in Washougal, WA.
