Adams' Speed & Style Silver Puts Him in Elite Company

CORONA, Calif., (June 30, 2012) –

The third night of competition at X Games Los Angeles 2012 was another exciting one, as Monster Energy’s Nate Adams joined Travis Pastrana as the most decorated Moto X athlete in X Games history.  Adams scored a silver medal in Speed & Style, his thirteenth piece of X Games hardware in 12 appearances. Adams had the style, but not the speed at Staples Center, barely missing out on his second straight Speed & Style gold medal. In the semi-final round, Edgar Torronteras crashed trying to land a backflip while he was nearly side-by-side with Adams, and was unable to continue.

In Women’s Moto X Racing, Australian native and Monster Energy Team Green athlete Meghan Rutledge battled for the final podium spot, but a late race fall saw her finish just off the medal stand. Rutledge walked away with fourth in her very first appearance at X Games.
Sunday will mark the last day of competition at X Games Los Angeles 2012. Tune in to ESPN2, ESPN3D, and ESPN3 at 10:30pm EST on Sunday, July 1, to watch Monster Energy’s Destry Abbott, Andres Lettenbichler, Taylor Robert, Alex Salvini, and Bobby Garrison battle it out in Men’s Moto X Enduro X.
