AMA Implements New Race Day Schedule At AMA Toyota Motocross in Texas

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (June 9, 2008) – AMA Pro Racing implemented a new race day schedule this past weekend at the Monster Energy Freestone National Presented by Yamaha, Kicker Audio and Berkey’s Plumbing, round three of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF.

The new schedule featured slight adjustments to Saturday’s timing and qualifying procedures in both AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites classes, an early start for Saturday practice for both classes and a timing change that moved the final moto to Sunday morning for AMA/WMA Women’s National Motocross Championship Presented by Kawasaki.

“The AMA and NPG met with the teams and riders to get their feedback on the former race day schedule,” said John Ayers, director of operations for the NPG. “These changes are a direct result of our meetings. It’s important for our series to continue to evolve in the direction that best suits the sport, its’ riders and its race teams. I believe the changes really worked well in Texas.”
