Hoyer takes three out of four podiums during opening weekend

Kamloops, B.C. (Nov 9, 2009) This past weekend marked the first two rounds of the Nex-Trax Canadian Arenacross Series and the Leading Edge team was in full effect with an All-Canadian lineup to take on Canada's best indoor riders at Chilliwack, British Columbia's Heritage Park. With reigning Canadian MX2 National Champion, Teddy Maier, unable to contest the series the team tasked long time supercross competitor and White Rock, British Columbia native, Brady Sheren, to compete in the series alongside reigning Lites AX champion, Brock Hoyer, of Williams Lake and Kris Foster of Kamloops, making it an all British Columbia team for the indoor series.

Right from the drop of Friday's gate, Brock Hoyer showed he was one of the men to beat and consistently ran up front in every heat race and main event. In the end he would end up second in Friday's Lites main and back it up with a third in the Open main event. Saturday would bring more of the same as he won his first heat race and went on to finish second again in the Lites Main. Unfortunately, Hoyer along with race winner, Kyle Beaton, would both be penalized five positions for what was deemed an early jump on the gate. Still, not deterred, Hoyer came out for the Open main and again put his Monster Energy/Leading Edge Kawasaki KX250F on the podium, a virtual clean sweep of the podium over the course of the weekend and a lot of confidence coming into next weekend's rounds three and four.

Despite still recovering from a nasty bought of the flu and very little seat time on his new bike, Brady Sheren, showed why he has raced the AMA Supercross series for the past three seasons. He was knocking on the door of the podium both nights, with a fourth in Friday's Open main and another fourth in Saturday's Lites main. No doubt that next weekend, with a week on the bike and more time to recover he will be in the mix with the rest of the front runners.

Kris Foster has been recovering from an injury he incurred during the summer but that didn't stop the Kamloops native from finding the winners circle, taking the final round win during Friday's Head to Head races. This spectator friendly event pits the riders in a two man, head to head, one lap elimination style format until there's only one rider left. Foster held off a charging Lee Coutts to take Friday's win.
