Okay, we have to admit, we dig checking out the national pride goodies that everyone rolls out for the MXoN. Scott has done up some special goggles in the country colors of three of their heroes, like Clement Desalle (Belgium), Chad Reed (Australia), and Jake Weimer (USA) for this weekend's festivities in Italy. If you're there, Scott will also be at the race, displaying their various wares.

We'll be heading out to the Fairplex in Pomona this weekend for the 7th Annual World Championship of Freestyle Motocross, and checking out some top-name talent. That's in addition to all the normal fun of the L.A. County Fair, which is also happening at the same time. You can get your fill of sugary and deep-fried treats, watch some freestyle, and then hit some sketchy carnival rides. Sounds like a party to us. Hit the link above for more info.

Props to Brazilian Mariana Balbi, who became the first woman to qualify for and race in a World Championship Grand Prix round. Tarah Gieger had raced a pair of MXoN events, but had never raced a GP. The last female rider who'd attempted to qualify for a GP was Steffi Bau, who attempted to qualify for an MX2 event in Italy back in '05.

For her attempt, Balbi jumped to the MX1 class at the Honda Grand Prix of Brazil, the bike she's most familiar with (and she regularly competes with men in her native Brazil). After qualifying 28th, she finished 24th and 20th in her two motos.

Also check out the car in the foreground. That's no family sedan. We also wonder what color bike Chad will be on next...
