Southwick’s Moto-X 338 track is a physically demanding sand track and is one of the only races in which semi-retired veteran rider and local moto legend John Dowd competes. The 45 year old Dowd is widely considered as one of motocross’ best sand racers, and finished 3rd at the 2009 AMA Southwick National on Pirelli Scorpion MX tires.


Kyle Regal is currently ranked 8th in AMA Motocross Championship points and has 2 podium finishes to date. The 19 year old finished 6th at Southwick in 2009 and will be campaigning his privateer Honda in this year’s event.

Dowd’s autographed #16 Shoei Model VFX-W helmet and Regal’s autographed #41 Arai Model VX-Pro 3 helmet are both up for grabs after Saturday’s Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship moto in Southwick, Massachusetts.
