Things are definitely heating up this weekend. The Lites East Supercross season will wrap up Saturday night at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, with rookie Trey Canard, who has lead since the first race in Atlanta, leading a resurgent Ryan Villopoto by a mere three points. Who’ll take the title? That remains to be seen, but be sure to check here for Saturday’s Pit Bits, as well as full coverage after the race.
We’re also looking to see how Chad Reed performs on Saturday night, with a week of healing and physical therapy under his belt after a hard crash last during practice in Detroit. Can K-Dub make up more ground on the San Manuel Yamaha rider?
The GP competitors are back at it again this weekend, diving into their second round of the season, this time on the Bellpuig circuit in Spain. Hopefully things will be drier than they were for the season-opener in Valkswaarden, and if they are drier, it'll be interesting to see if Ken de Dycker (MX1), and Tyla Rattray (MX2) can continue the win streaks they started in The Netherlands.
The amateur crowd is busy racing at the World Mini Gran Prix in Las Vegas. (We’d suggest checking out www.amateurmx.com for updates).
If you’re not scared of getting mouse finger pump from working your way through a 125-photo gallery, Swap over at TWMX has a bunch of photos of the latest bikes in the Japanese National Series, which is typically a preview of what you might see on the showroom floor the following year. You can get there by clicking here.
Swap's also sporting a lovely pink cast on one arm after getting taken out by a cartwheeling bike (and it wasn't even his own). Get well soon, Swap.
Hmm…we’ve heard some very interesting rumors about where we might see a change in the future for a round of the U.S. National MX schedule, and we might even have a photo or two to show off here soon. Keep your eyes and ears open.
The AMA Superbike guys are in Barber Motorsports Park this weekend, and the DMG announced their vision for the class structure, as well as equipment. Spec tires, spec fuel, and black boxes that are randomly distributed. Some of the teams aren’t psyched, and we wonder if there are some big changes in the future for MX as well. CycleNews has more on that story here. We do have to say, though, that we do like some of their ideas, like adding two-way radios to the bikes in that series. Will we someday be able to listen in on communications between the riders and the teams? Hmmm...

I also heard a rumor a few months ago that Tampa will be back in the line up for Supercross, is that it? I really hope they do or at least Orlando.
