While everyone was still basking in the afterglow of an awesome Motocross of Nations at Budds Creek, we were already wondering if it would be another 20 years before we’d see the event back in the U.S. Well, the good news for U.S. fans is that it will likely be sooner than that…much sooner. The 2008 Motocross of Nations is already scheduled for Northern Ireland, and the 2009 edition will be in Italy. We’ve heard that there’s a very strong possibility that it will back in the U.S. by 2010, or 2011 at the outside. While it’s still too early to suggest a location, the Youthstream office at Budds Creek was reportedly visited by representatives from a number of U.S. tracks eager to host the event.

Here’s something else to consider. While the MXoN features the cream of the international talent pool, how cool would it be to see a full-on GP back in the U.S? That’s sounding not only possible, but likely…and from everything we heard, we’d guess it’ll happen much sooner than 2010.

What do you think? Will more frequent visits back and forth increase interest in both the AMA and FIM events, and make the sport feel a bit less like “us” and “them?”
