Jake Weimer (Monster Energy Kawasaki) had good starts in both motos. James Stewart (Team Yoshimura Suzuki Racing) quickly made his way to the front in moto one, but almost just as quickly went down hard in a fast downhill sweeper. He went DNF-DNF for the day, and will visit the doctor at home to have his hand/wrist checked out.

Andrew Short (Team Chapparal Honda) was seventh in moto one, but ran a strong second in moto two, to the delight of the local fans. He ended up third overall for the day.

With James Stewart sidelined, it might be a lonely summer for Ryan Dungey. He easily handled both motos in Thunder Valley.

One of the best battles of the day was between Jake Weimer (Monster Energy Kawasaki), and Broc Tickle (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) for third and fourth place in the second moto. Tickle ended up third, and Weimer fourth, but Jake scored second overall with his 2-4 score. Broc had suffered a DNF in moto one.

Justin Barcia (GEICO Honda) took advantage of great starts and a last-lap tangle with Ken Roczen in moto two to grab the overall win away from Blake Baggett in the 250 class.

Justin Barcia and Ken Roczen (Red Bull/KTM) battling in front of a hearty Colorado crowd. The fans had to endure a delay for severe winds at the start of the first 250 moto that ripped up banners, took down tents, and made a general mess of the facility. We saw one guy get completely blown over in his lawn chair.

Blake Baggett (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) put on a serious burst of speed in moto two that took him past all of his 250-class competitors.

Last week%27s winner, Eli Tomac, wasn't quite on the pace that he had last weekend at Freestone, but he scored a 4-3 fourth overall for the GEICO Honda squad.

Jessica Patterson (Rockstar Energy Suzuki) and Ashley Fiolek (Team Honda Muscle Milk) battling? That's not shocking. They went at it for a while in moto one, and unforunately, Ashley crashed out of moto two while leading.

Sara Pettersson (32) worked her way through this cluster of riders that included Mariana Balbi (MotoConcepts), Jacqueline Strong (4), and Sayaka Kaneshiro (Team Honda Muscle Milk).

Jessica Patterson now has a 16-point lead in the WMX class.

Tarah Gieger (Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oil Honda) finished second in moto one, and lead a portion of moto two.
