Eli Tomac (GEICO Honda) had an awesome day on a track that had been rough on him before. If anyone had doubts about his ability to contend for a title after last week's race in Hangtown, those should be laid to rest now.

Hangtown winner, Blake Baggett (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki), had to work his way through the pack again, but by the time he got to second each moto, Tomac was already gone.

Ken Roczen (Red Bull/KTM) was third overall in his first trip to Freestone. The good news for everyone was that it was a lot cooler and less humid than in many of the previous years, so it wasn't nearly as brutal on the bikes or bodies.

Blake Wharton (Rockstar Energy Suzuki) gave the hometown Texas fans something to cheer about as he lead six laps of the second 250 moto.

new Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oil Honda recruit, Jessy Nelson ripped a pair of holeshots in the 250 class.
