Results Sheet: Budds Creek 3

Forgive us if the results for round five of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, the Red Bull Budds Creek National, sounds a little familiar. Nope, this is no copy/paste, but Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett grabbed another overall with a 2-1 day, and Ryan Dungey (Red Bull/KTM) was atop the 450 podium once again, for the third straight race. That's six motos straight for Dungey, who has the 450 class well covered at this point. Mike Alessi (MotoConcepts) is doing his best to keep Dungey in check, but can't quite keep up the pace. But after five straight weeks of racing, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship now gets a break, and it sounds like James Stewart will likely return at the next round at Red Bud, so that may provide some extra challenge for the series points leader. But with a 54-point lead, Dungey could take a couple motos off, and still be leading.

On the 250 side, the script also sounded very familar. Ken Roczen (Red Bull/KTM) leading big chunks of both motos before being passed late in the race. Justin Barcia (GEICO Honda) winning the first moto. Blake Baggett coming from behind to take the win and overall in moto two. Baggett now has a 13-point lead over Barcia.

Check the photos here, and stop back later for much more, with a full gallery of photos in the Photo Blast, as well as Pit Bits.

Alex Martin (Eleven 10 Mods / RideMPS.com / Renegade Fuels), Ken Roczen (Red Bull/KTM), and Justin Barcia (GEICO Honda) drag race out of the first turn to start the day.

The highlight of the day for Team Honda Muscle Milk's Justin Brayton had to be the first moto holeshot.

Ryan Dungey led all but three laps of the second 250 moto in Maryland.

Mike Alessi is riding smart, and within his comfort zone. Unfortunately, that's not quite enough to get it done against Ryan Dungey.

It seems like a switch has been flipped for Broc Tickle (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki), as he's been getting faster throughout the outdoor season, and he grabbed his first-ever podium spot with a 2-2 day at Budds.

Chalk up another great start for Alessi in moto two. He lead the first three laps.

Ryan Dungey. Mike Alessi was quick to call him the best in the world during the post-race press conference.

Moto two went down to the wire for Josh Grant (Jeff Ward Racing/DNA Energy) and Jake Weimer (Monster Energy Kawasaki). Weimer just edged out Grant at the line, and they both launched off the finish line table. Fortunately they didn't run down any of the finishers in front of them.

The winners in each class took home cool guitar trophies.
