Personal Podium: Ken Roczen 2

"Awesome." That's how Ken Roczen described the first couple months of Supercross experience here in the U.S. "I didn't have that much time to get prepared for Supercross, so it was kind of difficult. We had ups and downs. Some good races, some were not that good. But it was all about getting experience with that crew behind me. I think that there's no better crew out there. We definitely had a lot of fun, and it's good to go back to Europe now with a good feeling, do some GPs, and I'll be back for Salt Lake and Las Vegas."

Ken's holeshot of his heat race at Daytona had to be a highlight, but it didn't make his top three.

Then we asked him for his personal podium (top three) things that he learned while here in the U.S. Here's what he had to say.

1. "Shorty tried to teach me about eating healthier, 'cause I always eat crap. Fast food...all I can get, actually. Same as Frankie the mechanic. I told him to try and teach me how to eat better and stuff." One thing that Ken didn't have to develop while here was a sense of humor. When we suggested that he didn't have to pay as much attention to his diet while he's 16, he said, "That's true. Maybe I should enjoy life as long as I can, and when I'm older I can start eating healthier."

2. "The whole crew taught me how to ride as a Supercross rider. The first two races I rode pretty bad. Like outdoor, I was taking the best line all the time, but then people can come inside of you, which is not good."

3. I definitely learned. I came here with no experience in Supercross. I didn't know how hard it's going to be. I didn't have a good rhythm with my practice stuff, but now I know how it is, and it's going to be even better for next year.
