The same weekend as the 10th annual Vintage Iron World Championships at Glen Helen (November 3rd and 4th), there will be a movie premiere in nearby San Bernardino, CA, featuring One Chance to Win. The movie chronicles the final round of the 1975 AMA 500cc National Championship series, and features the legendary heroes of the era.
We checked out the trailer for the movie, and it looks pretty amazing. Whether you’re into old school moto, or just want to see the sport’s roots, this sounds like a must-attend event. Tickets are $25 each, and while that may sound a bit pricey, the proceeds will go to organizations like the Reeve-Irvine Research Center at the University of California, Irvine; the Full Circle Foundation, and Wings for Life. So it’s not just a good time, it supports some good causes.
If you need an additional reason to go, quite a few of the riders and mechanics from the era are expected to attend, including Brad Lackey, Jim Weinert, Tony DiStefano, Steve Stackable, Billy Grossi, Marty Smith, Marty Tripes, Bob Hannah, Bill Buchka, Roy Turner, Dave Arnold, Keith McCarty and Bevo Forte.
