Gautier Paulin ‘in’ for the MX of Nations

The
French Federation officially confirmed today that Gautier Paulin will replaced
injured Christophe Pourcel for the upcoming Motocross of Nations, organized in
Thunder Valley (Colorado) on September 25th and 26th.

After
his crash during the last round of the 2010 US Motocross Championship,
Christophe Pourcel undergoes surgery on Tuesday and will not be able to ride
before several weeks. Olivier Robert, the French manager, already contacted
Gautier Paulin last weekend during the GP of Italy, and confirmed the Yamaha
Rinaldi rider as the third man of the French Squad. Riding a 450 Yamaha in the
MX1 class at the Nations, Gautier was already testing this Tuesday in Mantova.

We’ve been testing all day long with the team and Ohlins, and it went
pretty well as we found a good base for my riding style. The bike had been
already sent to USA tonight, but I will be testing again this Wednesday on
another track. I didn’t ride so much a 450 this year but I will be ready for
the race, that’s not a problem. I’m disappointed for Christophe, I know how important
is this race for a rider; I have great memories from last year, there was an
incredible atmosphere with Marvin (Musquin) and Steven (Frossard) and I’m sure
it will be similar with Xavier (Boog). It’s an honor for me to be in the French
team, and I’m also happy for my sponsors who supported me all year long despite
my injury at the beginning of the championship”
said Gautier who claimed a
GP win two weeks ago in Lierop (Netherlands) and finished runner-up last
week-end during the final round of the MX2 World Championship in Fermo (Italy).
