First Look: KTM's New 450 Sponsor

The U.S.-based KTM 450 squad will be sporting a new sponsor in 2009… Jagermeister. The new look 450 will first hit the track this weekend, with longtime KTM test rider Michael Sleeter on board. (Hey, this is Vegas. What better place to debut Jager as a sponsor?) Oh, and it also means that all their future 450 guys will be over 21.

So who will be on the 450 team next season? Rumor has it that Matt Goerke (following some strong rides on the big-bore KTM at the end of last season) has locked up one of the spots, and the MDK KTM crew are looking at a couple other riders. (Sean Hamblin was spotted in So. Cal. aboard a KTM last week… Hmm…)

Put hammy on a KX250 2S and he'll do well. Just make sure the tanks topped off.

I must say this was the most pathetic deal and decals the United states KTM ever did? Come on ? Booze is cool, but i dosen´t make sense to me motocross and jagermaister? Give another energy drink ashot instead? The jaeger decals was so ugly. I bet the other teams laugh at KTM what they do? Redbull left KTM, but the European KTM are still redbull and they look very professional, this look more like a joke. I like ktm, but this was very bad. Maybe fun for a u.s open race, but who can take a team serious, when they have jaegermeister as their biggest sponsor ? Come on KTM better can you do!

I wonder why the riders will have to be 21 to ride the bike when they only have to be 18 to serve the drink or 18 to serve their country? Anyway, good to see new sponsorship coming in. It really should be the Jager/Red Bull team!

Glad to see them on board. Don't know what Brownsound is smoking though. Energy drinks are over done in this sport, and the demographics for our sport definitely lean towards drinking. I'm just wondering how long it will take JLaw to catch wind of this and offer his services at a discounted price for free product instead.

They should have gone after a Hot Damn! Schnapps sponsorship. The colors are closer to orange, and, talking from experience, that goes very well after a long KTM ride in the wilderness.

i love motocross, and i love alcohol. i think this is a fantastic way to promote our sport. im going to take it one more step...and get some grey goose and deja'vu or crazy horse graphics made up for my bike.
