Crazy Night in Atlanta
Wow, tonight was some of the wildest action we've seen in what's already been a crazy 2011 Monster Energy Supercross season. Here's a sample of the action as Chad Reed and James Stewart were battling for the win in Atlanta. (Apparently James is made of rubber.) They'd already tangled bigtime before this altercation. Check back later, and we'll break it all down for you.

First Picture tells it all JS ran into Reed, he is leaning off the right side ready for contact. I agree Reed drove into his path or line but why leave the door open so wide.

Reed has grown a lot in the championship, and he showed he can win the championship. Go biiig Reed!

villipoto did the same pass on dungey at st. louis last year. The same reaction, was that was dumb on villipotos part. Dumb moves like that don't win championships.

wow, there is a reason chad reed can't get a ride. hmmm I was there and i had some reed fans beside me, and they was like what the hell. dumb dumb dumb. a smart man wouldn't rode like that. Maybe that epstein bar kicked in right at the moment and he didn't have enough energy to make the turn.
"championships are not won with moves like that."
He should have let that go he is spending out of his pockets to race. Honda would reather have grants bike sit at the races than let reed ride it. hmmmm

Yeah as i said before, last lap, for the win? Who wouldnt? Like everyone has said, it's supercross racing and block passing is part of it, like any racing. And in return to Chase26 aka Bubba Stewarts bum buddy: Stand on the ground like anyone else would.. The only other rider who'd do somehting so dirty and pathetic is Alessi, like he did to Tedesco back in 05. Grow up! Stewart could have braked..

I agree with TerryK. THIS IS SUPERCROSS, and... It was last lap.
Reed turned first, Stewart had to brake, he didn't., they crashed... Stewart fans should think before posting, their mind make them write wrong things.

Thanks to some awesome photography timing by Guy B!
Gentleman (I use the term lightly) What we have here is a TEXT BOOK BLOCK PASS performed by Chad, if you are able to view these pictures there should be no questions, and Chad even gave Stewart plenty of distance to see that front wheel coming in to block his forward path!
When the stop light turns yellow...you either gas it or hit the brakes...... right? Brakes would have been the safer bet on this one.
It's called cutting off the track.....bigger question is if you were leading a tight race down to the final laps, would you leave any door open.....Stewart should have known to protect the inside line, regardless of who the rider was in second place!
Standing on the dudes bike that got in your line right before you T-Boned him, when it can be looked at as unfortunate/oportunistic...who wouldn't? It's a pain in the butt to get the leg over your bike when it is above you in a berm...everyone knows that!
There both amazing athletes, and at the slim/ top of the SX food chain, so good to see some fire in the eyes of more than one competitor this season!

So when did an (almost) perfect block pass become "kamakazi" move? THIS is what real supercross racing is supposed to be. Aggressive riders and going for it.

Wo! WFO JAMES.. Rubbin' is racing. Dont be such a rim lick to Stewart. He claims that he's "the fastest man on the planet" getting taken out and failing to dominate the championship like he said he would before, fail to back that up. The only dirty thing i can see from this, is Stewart standing on Reeds bike. Maybe it was aggressive on reeds part, but would you not do it for a win? Especially when it's your team, youre prooving.

This is classic Chad Reed and its the only way he has any chance of beating James.... Hey Tanner, retaliation for what , when Stewart passed Reed it was a clean pass, not a kamakaze move like Reeds. There are only a few guys that ride this way ie Reed,Hansen and Tedesco, come to mind. I guess the AMA is gonna allow it until someone ends up in a wheelchair as an end result.

Awww MAN if missed it you missed an important piece of Supercross history, in fact, I think this just beat out Anaheim '86. Reedy's REALLY warmed up now expect a lot more, THIS IS 'GONNA GET CRAZY.....seriously I'm nervious. You know when Stewart's Dad yells at him after the race like they're back in the amatures, it's crazy. WOW, what a day!

I thought it was awesome! Last lap, going for the win, without that pass we'd still be talking about the race, but because of it we witnessed a classic!!!

Simple solution to prevent those kinds of passes from happening...Move the tuff blocks on the inside closer to the outside. In a super wide turn like that James had to be more aware of a move coming like that.
