A2 Press Day 1

We stopped by Angel Stadium yesterday for Anaheim 2 Press day. The Geico Powersports Honda and JGRMX Toyota/Yamaha teams were on tap this week, with Kevin Windham, Dan Reardon, and Josh Grant taking to the track.

After checking out one of the rhythm lanes and the usual whips off the finish line jump, it was time to get down to serious business...talking over the track design. This week's track is different than we've seen in any of the previous two rounds this season, with some of the usual look and feel, but also some twistier sections, and obstacles that are more reminiscent of an outdoor track.

The one of Dan Reardon below was a pretty big double leading into a quick left-right turn section.

The Dirt Wurx and Feld Motorsports crew were checking with Kevin Windham for feedback on the design, and for suggestions on ways to keep the track racier and not one-lined.

Kevin Windham.

In contrast to much of the rest of the country, the weather out here during the day is in the 80s, and it'll actually take a considerable amount of water to get the track wet. It was dry enough this week that it was actually hard to build, since it had dried into large clumps of clay. Between the track design and different weather conditions, even though we're in the same stadium, it should be a considerably different event than A1.
