I feel like I'm getting conflicting reports..... if it won't work on my YZ450F, will it at least work on my CR125?

No. It will work on a 2013-15 KTM 450. They are bike/model/year specific.

But this one has the dials for timing adjustment, so as long as I get the right adaptors I shoukd be able to adjust timing to work, right?

It will not work on the yz450f. There are more differences than just the plug
