So after a 2 year break from riding and selling my ktm 350, im ready to get back into riding. Im mainly looking at getting a 125 2t not partial to any brand. My only concern is if im to big for it. Right now im 6'3 180lbs. Im not looking to win any races or qualify for LL, im mainly wanting to just have some 2 stroke fun. Mainly because ive never owned one. So any input would be awesome! Thanks for the help!

Maybe look into a YZ 125 with a big bore 134 with some porting and head mods for extra bottom end. Or a 2016 KTM 125/150.

Though I would not go with the 143 Eric Gorr setup. One of the builders in CA just had a customer bring in (6) bikes because all of the bikes were slower than stock. After a few dyno runs the bikes were 10HP down from stock! The compression was so tight they were loosing power and had not mid-top whatsoever.

It may be isolated if it was one bike but that was not the case.

Good Luck!

The 16-17 KtM 125 and 150s have great power. Just get the Springs and valving done for your size.

^^^^I'm 6'0" 210 And rode a '13 150 for a couple of years in a hare scramble series and I did fine even in the rocks and hills of Arkansas and Texas. That being said Factory Connection revalved the suspension for me. But as far as power that sucker would rip and I'm a lowly vet B rider. The lack of torque did hurt at times but for the most part the weight advantage helped me more than the loss of power hurt. Hope that helps.

I was raised riding 125s. Left the sport for 8 years and now have a 250F. I weigh quite a bit more now at 200lbs but I still have a blast hopping on my buddies 125. Plenty of power for me to have fun on, if I was trying to be competitive tho I would probably opt for something bigger.

im 6'1" and about 280 on a light day.

125's are still a blast and make you hit corners like superman to get around with any sort of speed lol.

I ride my wifes 2012 150sx from time to time and put another set of suspension on it for me.

its a good change to ride with very little power every now and again when I spend most of my time on a built 450.
