Hi forum!

I recently bought an RM250 2008, this is my first bike with modern forks, as I have previously only ridden EVO bikes.

The bike was setup for a heavier rider than me, so I have loosened up the preload on the rear to get the sag correct, but how do I go about the front? On my previous rides it hasn't been an issue, but this seems stiffer somehow.

When I contact the suspension "guru" that has serviced the suspension previously there's no help to be had unless I shelve out 600USD, which I have no intention of doing.

Any preload adjustment for the front forks or something obvious I'm missing?

just spring it for your weight and go for it. there is not really any preload adjustment on twin chamber showas to worry about.

No preload adjustments. As dtha70 said you need springs. About 100 bucks. I had an 08 Rm and the stock valving wasn't the best. It's one of my bikes that improved the most with a good revalve front and rear.

I was hoping that wasn't neccesary as the rear spring seems correct, but I guess its the only way Smile

What do you weigh?

If you really don't want to get springs you could always try draining out some oil (10-20cc per leg) and going out on the compression.

But you will never beat having the correct spring rate.

Including gear its 75kg, local suspension guy told me the stock springs are for +85kg, so I guess it makes sense that it doesn't sink as much.

If I'm going to ride it I'm going to do it right Smile
