Moto-Master brake discs. Opinions?

Hi guys, I'm in the market for some new front brake disc for my rmz 250. Thinking about getting either Moto master nitro (looks like stock) or the slightly more expensive flame model. Do you have any experience with the brand? Are there any pros to Flame design? I will be using standard, 250mm sized rotor, cannot afford an oversized kit right now. Any chance front rotor is interchangeable between rmz 250 and 450? Thanks

Just a question. Why switching rotors?

I'm really happy with all the Galfer stuff. I've been using thier lines, oversized rotors and sintard pads..

i wouldnt waste a dollar on a stock size front, run what you have and save up for a 270 kit, or find a cheap stock rotor as a replacement till you can afford 270

I've read great stuff about it and I'm planning to go this route with solid 270 galfer rotor but it has to wait as it's a way more expensive setup.

I've got the oversize motomaster flame rotor that was on my older rmz if that will work. It's in good shape .

Thank you for the heads up, but I would also need an adapter to make it work with an oversize rotor + I'm located in Poland so shipping would probably cost more than the rotor. How much would you want for it anyway?

I think I'll just order a standard sized moto-master flame (approx 50$ from my local parts store) and will use it while saving for an oversize kit Smile

Thank you very much for your input!

Does Tusk use solid or floating rotors? Seems like solid is the way to go for MX use.

$20 ...but like you said shipping would probably cancel out any savings.

I like the floating oversized. The feel is a little more progressive, not so, "on" "off" because the way it floats, you have a little play.

Go with the braking non floating kit. It's like $120 for a 270 disc. Short and a bunch of other pros run this setup.

After thinking that through I think it's a galfer unit. I have one on my bike and will take a look tonight.

I just got one and can't wait to use it. Floating discs allow for expansion as the disc gets hot.

Yes it does allow for greater heat expansion, but I don't think there is enough heat in MX ever to make the disc warp. Progressive feel might be a big plus to floating rotors, but aren't the rivets a problem? Do they stay tight over time?

My next kit will definately be Galfer 270mm, but this time due to budget limitations I'll go with moto-master 250mm. It's winter here, I won't be riding much within the next few months, I think it'll have to do until spring Sad

Galfer SKW is the one I have. Spend the extra money and get an oversized rotor. It's so worth it.
