Kx 100 full rebuild

Hey guys, found a 99 KX 100 that I can get for pretty much a bag of pucks. Buddy says it needs a crank and the motor is out. I'm mechanically inclined enough to rebuild it as long as I had some literature to follow along to. Does anybody know where I can find a good service manual that would walk me through the whole process ground up.

Hot rods makes a crank replacement kit.
They have a stroker kit too, it's crazy not to do it when doing a crank replacement.
It says you need to machine the head, but all that is needed is a thicker base gasket.
Cometic will make it for you, or you could stack a few stock ones. You will need about a 1.2mm base gasket to get a squish of 1.0mm

Do not run a hot rods crank. Stock cranks are cheap and much better quality. And no Namura pistons. I have a full rebuild of a 16 KX85 on my bench right now due to Namura wrist pin clip failure at less than ten hours.

Thanks a lot man. You're the second person to tell me not to use hot rods.

No Hot Rod cranks. Son was on them for years. I learned the hard way.

The two main things with the KX's:, 1. OEM crank. 2. Stock Nikasil sucks. Its not a matter of "if", but how soon it start flaking off that will cascade into a host of other problems. If you send it out before a failure, way less cost and headache. Based on my experiences, over time, with numerous bikes, and observations of friends and others.
