Gents,

My gas pressure washer that I use at the track has taken a dump on me. After 15 or so years it is time for a new one. It was 2200 psi @ 1.8 GPM. It worked fine at the track with the exception it would not work while being gravity fed. I had to haul around a 12V on demand pump to provide positive pressure.

I see at the national pits (Muddy Creek & Crawfordsville) plenty of "privateers" using pressure washers fed directly out of a tank. Mine would be in the back of a pickup. At the time I did not investigate further into the brands / models that I seen used this way.

I prefer high pressure & low GPM.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

When I used to race every weekend I just had a 30 gallon water barrel. Welded a pipe nipple on a metal bung cover and attached a large hose, think it was at least 1-1/4" ID. With this on my tailgate and pressure washer on the ground never really had an issue with it gravity feeding my pressure washer.

If your water jug can be sealed and you don't want to use a pump, try tapping in one of these shraeder valves into the top of the tank. Then use a floor pump or air compressor to fill the tank with air and you'll have a pressurized water tank.

That's what I did on a 5 gallon water jug for showering. Works great. My pressure washer works great gravity fed (Honda 2600 psi/2.3GPM) as well.

Start with the basics, but your supply tank is vented correct?

Also make sure if the pressure washer has a tube to suck in soap that you plug that tube or it will try and suck air.

Also I always have water running through the hose when I connect it to the power washer and that keeps it from getting air pockets as well.
