Any ideas on where to relocate my cdi ('14 rmz450)

I need to relocate the cdi from the headtube so that I can run a headlight. The rmx450z has the cdi mounted to the rear fender under the right side panel. I dont think thats an option for me, so anyone have a good plan I can use lol?

Some people stick them in the air box. I think that's where Kawi puts them.

Why not copy the rmx? Can probably buy all the bits including wiring harness off ebay for cheap.

I havent found anything for an rmx! I also bought a rubber harness from a 2000 kx250 to mount it in the airbox but theres just not a clean way to do it. I may end up fabbing a mount under a side panel but I was hoping for something a little more elegant for a brand new bike lol.

Behind a shroud? In theory you could bunch/bundle all the engine and efi wire slack and just extend the few handlebar plugs you have to reach.

I have the Showa steering damper on mine. I relocated the CDI to the left frame spar behind the radiator shroud. i mounted it using large zip ties and minor trimming of the opening in the shroud.
