They are decent bikes. Run really good with a big bore or so the HPP swap with a kehin carb. They handle pretty well also.

I raced a 98,01 and a 03 through out my teens (10 years ago) and liked them.. they get a bad wrap for shitty motors, but I always did well and got great starts on them. I holeshoted the class and led broc helper (maybe a lap, lol) at a Loretta qualifier back in 02 on my bone stock 01 cr125.. broc was on a full PR2 built rm125...
