Picked up a 13 rmz450 and didn't like the look of the stock clamps. I can't justify purchasing new clamps just for looks, so I busted out some sand paper and went to town. Does anyone have any tips/experience on cleaning up stock parts to make them look a little more trick?

That looks really good! What grit of sandpaper did you use? How long did it take to do that?

Started with the most coarse I could find then eventually ended with wet sanding with wd40/1000 grit. Probably took 1.5 give or take.

I did the same thing to my KX when the black got too many stone chips!

Yup, I did it to my 07 RM250 clamps and linkage. Looked great and everyone thought they were aftermarket parts.

Looks awesome! I can appreciate the work you've put into those.

Did you pull them off to do the work? And what did you do for the tight areas and crevices on the top sides of the clamps/near the bolts?

NICE!!!!!

I have my front end apart right now. I should do that as well. Cuz if I put it back together, you know
I'll never actually get around to doing it.

Thanks for the inspo!

Did the top clamp today. Only problem is now the bottom clamp looks like shit in comparison. Smile

Rustloeums finest this time around... aluminum primer, mettalic bronze, and a bunch of clear.
