I still have stock triple clamps , anyone know if I can take the stock paint off and make it a bare aluminum polished look?

Done for the night . Lost a shock bolt somehow , and need a few new bolts . So far it's coming together nice and slow , but glad I'm taking my time .

Wow

This is going to be a really nice build!

I'm thinking of getting a YZ and build it the way I want it next season and it seems that your build ticks off almost everything I want to do. Smile

Thanks man , I'm stoked about it . it might be too pretty to even race once I get it done .

If anyone's interested , im selling the wheels that were on it before the build . Red stock hubs , black excels , excel spline spokes

Np dude.

That's the catch when youre doing custom builds. It might get too pretty! Thats what I felt when I finished my 250sx atleast (even though I took her out to a sand track a couple of days later Grinning )

What kind of wheels are you getting?

Plan on getting a60, blue hubs from a wheel builder that someone offered to me on here . There his own hubs something like a nfi hub.

At 800 a set it's tough to beat . So far we've put them to test and all is well

Ya my bad , guess my photos didn't work !

Yeah the dirt tricks iron man sprockets were always awesome for there longevity and now they got color ways so I'm excited on the chromatic color .. the black one has held up good on my 450s.

Hey JkopMx, nice restoration/build!!! I will follow this for sure. I took the easy but "a bit" more expensive road and started a build on a new 2015.

I really feel you there on putting on Boyesen covers when also mounting V-Force. I have the same "no-no" in my head haha. I will justify it by also testing the Boysen reed valve. Sweet work with the pipe. Clever on heating the welds! Smile

Yes sir , I rode it once or twice with the vortex before the full rebuild but my clutch was slipping a bit .. So hard t judge just yet .. It definetly cleaned out my revving .. revs better and I only had to work with a little jetting to get it perfect .. Now all the maps run good ..

Pretty much done with it for the weekend . My seat cover didn't make it so I'm using the old one which doesn't look too bad either but still not liking using a old seat
Going to have to wait to put a few more things on it .. Mainly blue accessories and a few misc. stuff .

Breaking it in tommorow at a local track and then taking it to the races this weekend to race it ! gonna go ahead and take it to Loretta's this year in the 2 stroke open class and +25.. Glad they let pro riders back in both classes !! excited to be a vet rider haha

I think the black seat made it much more appealing

Awesome build!! Not being picky but a couple things I noticed.....

Always run your master-link clip on the inside of the bike!

The front sprocket retaining washer is not bent over far enough to keep the nut from spinning off should it come loose.

Also, the hose clamp for your fuel line at the carb inlet, rotate that down and in as much as you can. This protects it from flying roost. I have seen roost bend fuel clamps and puncture fuel lines before!

Not sure what ur seeing but the front sprocket retainer washer is bent flush with the side of the nut.. There are 2 tabs .. One is not being used ...

Master clip has more to rub or get hit on the inside .. Run it this way for years . Should be good ..

Nice build, but one comment/question. The Yoshimura fender stickers...Yoshimura ain't a 2-stroke company.
