Thought I'd share a little build I have going on .

11 yz250 . Started the build because I broke the left case from a chain snapping and putting a small hole at the clutch rod actuator . I fixed it for a few months with some Jb welb but it couldn't last any longer .

Going from the frame up with new everything in the motor as well as all the bling and going to make it into the 2015 body work .

Top and bottom end OEM rebuilds .
New cases
Pc head and cylinder
New full hinson clutch

The motor will be dialed in thats for sure !

here's a little teaser of the build so far Smile

And the bike before the rebuild

Nice. The "before" look is already impressive, looking forward to more pics of the "after". I have an 07' YZ250 that needs a little love so I'll be taking notes.

Yup , I had it hard coat anodized . Along with my swingarm . My subframe I had powder coated , as I didn't want to remove all of those steel inserts .

So how did they mask off the threads in the frame and swinger,or did you remove them all?

All of the threads in the frame are aluminum . Except the one bolt that holds the pipe mount . Which is a pressed in , that I removed before anodizing . Which U can see in the photo is silver .

If i'd have known that i'd have anodized my swinger's instead of PC'ing them.don't know why but i just assumed they would be steel insert's! Maybe for durability? Anyways Thank's for the info and my next build will go in a different direction for sure now.

Few more things cleaned up ,

Radiators aluminum acid washed .

Pipe wire brushed and scotch Brite. I've never re tempered the welds to bring the blue back around the welds but Ill give that a shot later .
Will a normal propane bottle with torch end work ?

and a few small bling parts

Added some more things this morning .

yzf Footpegs , which are probally going to be the best addition for actual feel .

put the radiators on, assembled and cleaned the carb , new v force reeds .

And put a vortex ignition on , really hoping it helps with over rev like my motor guy says

I'll be grabbing some colored carb hoses also . These look hideous .

Anyone seen a carbon fiber ignition cover? I'd hate go put a Boyesen cover on and have v force reeds

What are you doing with your old plastics? I'd be an interested buyer for a fair price. Plans to reuse the same seat cover ?
