Like DJ Said, get a pipe. Also think about a nice clutch cover, looks a lot better than that scratched up original.

You should do the 2010+ yz250f swing arm and linkage conversion!

Thanks guys. I saw bills pipes has a $300 pipe and silencer combo but I'm contemplating if it's worth just spending another $100 for FMF

I have a 2006 also. Tried the FMF Factory/Titanium-2 combo back to back with the Pro Circuit Factory/304 shorty combo. Preferred the FMF setup. Much broader power and better feel and really didn't feel like it was giving up much if any top end to the PC.

Other ideas... over size bars, WC rad braces. it looks like you've already got bigger pegs. For others, the stock 250F/450F pegs are a nice/cheap upgrade on the 2-strokes.

How does the bike run? Maybe a fresh top end? Reeds? What jetting are you running?

Aftermarket clutch cover and a pipe if you need one.

Is the suspension dialed for you? I just got mine done by chad newton at total control, he's a great guy and it really makes a hell of a difference!

Depends on what you are looking for in a pipe and what part of the powerband you want to change/improve. Thumpertalk and MXA have both done YZ250 pipe tests. Check the last several pages on TT thread.

I think allot of guys really like the stocker with a shorty silencer. My vote is to get the suspension serviced and revalved. If the suspension has never been serviced, at least do that, 06 was nearly a decade ago.

Damn, that's a nice lookin scoot as is. Whatever you do, have fun with it! One nice thing about having a timeless platform to work off of, you can change it up over time. And it'll always look and perform good.

RG3 Diamond kit. I'm just a 46 year old professional practicer, so I hardly need it, but I did it just because I could:-) And for the looks of course. But while on that subject, RG3 is 3 for 3 on my bikes. Each one has ended up being a magic carpet ride.

DEP Pipe, PC long silencer. Lose the reed valve spacer. You're welcome.

Oh yeah, also check your timing with a dial gauge. It is likely off a degree or so. And, at minimum, 50/50 race gas. The YZ likes to detonate on pump gas.
