Go get you some red scoth brite, sos pads, dawn soap and water. But most importantly some elbow grease.
1. Wash cases with soap and water
2.Use those red scotch brite pads and water. Also a lot of ELBOw GREASE ( This step will take many hours)
3. then use those SOS pads and those cases will shine. Good luck!!

scotchbrite pads and a lot of elbow grease as stated above. I used a dremel tool and wire brush type attachment on tight areas. I cleaned the heck out of it with a degreaser prior to doing anything. also, you can use aluminum polish on a rag as a last step to add some extra luster

If you want a mirror finish I would start with 220 grit sandpaper, but that may be a little too abrasive. Maybe 400 if the aluminum isn't very pitted. Work your way up to 600-800 grit, wet sanding after 400. Bench/angle grinder with at least 2 different compounds, always keep your wheels clean and 1 compound per wheel. Supplies can be found at Lowes Hardware, etc

NEver tried one actually. But they look nice for some very fine stuff, when you are done with the hard grinding i assume.

Dremel is probably the most popular. Small air tools work as well.
