I think Yamabond is a re-branded Three bond product. It's good stuff anyway.

Three bond has the 1184 & 1211 sealers. They used to have another sealer prior to the 1211 if I recall. That was also gray in color. I've always used the 1184 on 2 stroke cases. The 4 strokes I've split use a more rtv type of sealer. The available 1211 is white in color. Anyone know if the 1211 white sealer is the current product to use on the 4 strokes ?
The older Threebond was 1104. I use the 1184 on my 2 and 4 stroke cases with no problems.. Threebond 1184 is an update on the 1104....updated chemistry. According to Threebond Corp, the 1104 had lead in it and was discontinued for that reason. The Yamabond is rebranded 1184 if I'm not mistaken.

Threebond 1211 is a multipurpose silicone base sealant...not listed as oil resistant. I wouldn't use it on case halves.

1211 has been around for a long time and IMO is an excellent choice for cases, gaskets etc.. I have never had an issue with it sealing moto cases or jetski motors. From what I have read, they replaced 1104 with 1194 because of lead content in 1104.

Hey I thought I would pass this along, this is what I use one all my cases, two or four. It works great, is cheap, and you can get it at big box auto parts stores. I get it from amazon. Permatex 29132 MotoSeal 1

My choice for resealing engine cases is Hondabond HT it is also sold as Three Bond 1216e. Not cheap but well worth it never have had a oil leak using it.

I used ThreeBond 1215 on my YZ rebuild. I am led to believe its the same as Yamabond 1215 that is listed in the manual.

Never had any issues with 1211 in 25 years and countless engine rebuilds. The best! Works anywhere. Three Bond isn't strokist.

Why use a sealant? The gasket should seal just fine if you clean and file(very fine file) the faces. And I missing something?

Some engines don't have a center gasket
