I need to swap springs in a Suzuki sff fork. I notice in a video they use a tool to compress the cartridge so that the spring can be removed. Is there a trick that can be used to remove the spring with out using the spring compressor?

Yes, you can clamp it in a vice by the lug and loosen the rebound base bolt. Compress the fork so the rod pushes out of the bottom and and secure it with a standard holding tool. Remove the rebound bolt just like you would a normal twin chamber fork and pull the cartridge and spring out the top.

JB19, Ryan made a tool to do that. It is kind of crude but works
