I have a cr 125 and im looking to buy a 250f. my friend has a 2005 crf 250r that he bought from my other friend for $1,7000. He said he might sell it to me. I want this bike because i know he never beat on it because he doesn't ride it hard and my friend that had it before him put a new top end on it. Problems with the bike are it needs new tires, sprockets, chain, plastics, rear wheel bearing, throttle sticks, and he was to cheap to buy the right oil for his bike so he bought diesel engine oil from Walmart and only rode it 2 or 3 times with the oil. Is it bad that he put this oil into his bike? How much do you think i should pay for this bike? Thanks

Walmart's Supertech 15w40 diesel oil is good stuff. If the bike has any problems, it's not because of the type of oil that's in it.

I run Rotella T in everything I own that requires oil.

The oil isn't an issue.

However, rear wheel bearings should last a long time, if they are shot I'd bet there is a lot of other stuff that will need to be replaced soon. Unless you want a big project, save up a little more and get something that is in perfect shape.

Oil will be fine if it's been changed as often as it should have. A lot of sportbike buys run the rotella diesel oil, and those bikes are turning 16k rpm.
