Has anyone had good luck with pro wheels lately? They are close to half the price of excels and I saw a 300+ pound vet rider with a set laced up.
I ride at a B class level and am pretty hard on wheels. I remember a lot of Pro wheels breaking at races back in the day and Im wondering if they have gotten any better.

I'm a 300lb A turning AA rider offroad and spend the majority of my riding time during the week on a moto track. I'm a bull in a china shop in the woods, and I seem to get around a moto track ok (just no 100ft hucks out of me). I'm rough on stuff.
That being said, in the last 2 seasons, Pro Wheel rims laced to stock hubs have held up just fine, and I've had one front Warp9 wheel hold up just fine too.
The "junk" is fine for the average joe IMO.

Thanks man.
Why not have your hubs laced to A60's and save a bunch of money?
A60 Excel rims and D.I.D dirtstar rims are my two choices. If A60's or D.I.D rims are too expensive regular excel rims are great too (have them on my bike) I would choose ProWheel over Warp 9 also. I have no experience with DNA wheels.
As far as hubs go you can send off the stock hubs to get turned down if you are on a budget.
Also i would go with Excel spokes/nipples. The nipples have a different design that uses a special wrench to tighten them and IMO its a much better design than the regular spoke nipples because you can't round them off and they are a lot harder to seize on the spoke.
I could model the hub in Solidworks and write toolpaths with CadCam but I don't have access to a CNC lathe anymore.
I know a powder coat guy and will probably go that route.
For everyone that says to go with A60's; Im replacing A60's and have no intention of paying for them again.
