Yeah they have the akodised aluminum plates. I went with hinson steels and crf 250 heavy duty heat treated hinson springs. Should be here Monday hopefully it will line my clutch fade issue out. Thanks for the input.

Can you explain the HPP cyliner and why it's better than the previous models? I have a 2001 CR125 which runs pretty good. I thought the pre-HPP was supposed to be better. Is the HPP electronically controlled? And why did you need the 2002 for your build, besides the body style? Would the HPP cylinder fit the 2001? Just curious and unfamiliar. Thanks.

Great looking bike btw. Nice job!

The HPP cylinder I have is actually one from the team Plano Honda Shark Energy bike. Something to do with PV set up and the way the cylinder could be ported was a better set up for the team. Plano honda ran this set up in 00,01, and 02. So yes it will work on your bike. O and 02 was the last year of the style cases needed and I wanted the last gen frame. If you google plano honda and look closly t their bikes you will HPP cylinders. I have not ridden a stock HPP vs a stock 02 style cylinder so I couldnt tell ypu for sure. But I do know mine is a rocket for being a stock bore 125cc. I actually got my sylinder for the one of the team mechanics. He said stock for stock the HPP is better also. You can do afew small things to your biek that make a big difference, change that mikuni to a kehin PWK and put an 07 air boot on the bike.

Cool. Good info there. I did put the '05+ air boot on, ported the cylinder, milled the head, modified/advanced the powervalve stop, V-force reeds, Pro Circuit pipe and silencer. I should look into that Kehein carb and maybe consider the HPP cylinder.

I got all my mod info from Eric Gorr's book. It seems to work quite well. My bike runs pretty crisp...but could always be better. Tongue

Seems like you got it dialed pretty good. The neat thing about the HPP cylinder is you can punch it out to a 144 and it will work with your 01. The 01 colon Der I believe can only be punched to a 134.

Awesome build! Is the HPP cylinder a bolt on upgrade? Iv heard the older engine bolts into the gen 3 frame direct but not sure on a cylinder replacement, if so I can get a cheaper 02-03 bike and upgrade the airbox/carb with the cylinder and have a great little bike. Always loved the engine on the 90's bikes and the alu frame of the newer bikes would be a great home for it. Thanks.

01 stock is still decent. The main thing is getting more air and throw the tmx carb away. You can tune the 99 and below cylinders more. Can also be bored to a 144 as to the 01 134. I just was able to get my hands on this stuff so I built it. I can say the set up I have vs stock is night and day. I couldn't believe how much more power but yet still remaining a stock bore.

This is Eric Gorrs recommendations. I did this on my 2001 and it rips. I tuned it for mid and top. I didn't do the epoxy part so my bike doesn't have much bottom end power. Mid and top is great though.

Oh, I added the 05 and newer air boot, v-force reeds, pc pipe and silencer too.

Well I got bored and decided to go a little more further with the bike after riding it this summer. The HPP Plano set up ripped as it was a stock bore. I had 134 big bore HPP set up that I putting together now along with a few other things hard anodised engine covers, A kit suspension, black wheels and new hubs. Waiting on the hubs and covers to come back.

Not even close to compare. But I'm sure the newer suspension is much closure I comparson. I've ridden honda stock stuff all the way up to 2013 air stuf and non of it compares to my A kit truly built and set up for me. I have a B kit as well it's alittle better than stock. Being that it has machined caving and tolerances a little tighter. But the A kit is rigid but works suburb in deap breaking bumps.

awesome build! I am actually doing a similar build on a 02 I picked up.. still had the original k490/695 tires on it, original chain and sprockets and the motor has never been apart either.. I was curious if the stock 125 triple clamps work with the showa twins chambers or do you need the cr250 clamps?

Yeah they will fit. I had a set of twin chambers in both of my stock 125 clamps.

Right before she got sold. Lots of trial and error on this bike. It turned out to be a really good one. Kinda wish I wouldn't have sold it.

Hi,
I am just about to build basically the same bike as yours,
can you confirm,
1, complete HPP engine fits straight in
2, what year cr/crf rear shocks fit the 2002 cr125
3, what year pipe fits straight on or is it hand made
4, will 09 crf 250 front forks go straight in
5, 05-07 airboot mod is needed
Thanks in advance

Hop goes right on but you will need to use the 99 governed and linkage. An 02 pipe works but needs small modification to fit 100%. Pretty much all the crf 250 forks up to 09 will work and shocks as well you just have to set the proper length of the shock. If you go with Cr/crf suspension I have a kashima body, Showa gold shaft with Clevis, and gold fork tubes for sale. You just have to use the stock internals My parts will only work up to 07 though as the tube lengths changed in 08.
