Long story short I wanted an 02 so I could build this motor. I got my hands on a factory Plano Honda cylinder, head and the complete set up.

The bike 800.00 craigslist beauty!

The tear down.

Acid washed frame.

The goodies.
showa suspension

Intake and carb
Keihin 36mm jetted to spec. with Boyesen rad valve and will get a spacer. I also went with a 07 air boot and 1" air vents.

Now the motor. It got a Honda crank and all new bearings. It will be getting the Plano honda (HPP will only work up to an 02 cases. cylinder with a 9.2cc head with a dome crown piston. Bone stock (HPP setup) will give the bike 2hp gain.

I also have a 134cc kit but I wanna got with the stock 125cc bore set up firist.

Stock chassis. The suspension is just restoring and revalved for me. I have a set of forks that are ti no coated blue and a shock with a black dlc shaft. That's stuff is on my 250 I may put it on the 125.

Take that race fuel off of that concrete floor. It will go bad. Look forward to your build,

Yeah there are some decent deals out there. With that being said an 02 cr 125 isn't the most sought after bike. I have actually seen some primo 03-04 only going for like 1300-1500. I needed an 02 for my build. The bike was all there complete but the motor was a little sick. Once I got into it I ended up changing all the transmission gears and shift forks. The people most have just rode it on the street a lot. But yes for 800.00 not bad at all. If you break down the motors are going for like 600 on ebay.

It actually made from eagle one. It is called wheel etching and you spray it on then rub it with red scotch brite. It's a real soft acid it's not as harsh as just pure acid. But of you get it on magnesium or anything else it will discolor your bolts. Wd 40 and green scotch brite work petty good just for the spars and cradle.

A little more progress. New tires I actually went with the artrax tires. Going to give them a shot complete set 89.00cant beat it. Trying to spare on some things being a spent so much on the motor. Also has showa forks on the front much better lookin than the silver kayabas and work better for some heavier on a 125. Added carbon fiber frame guards which are really nice. I have a set on my 250 and my white boots stay white.

No, just another HPP cylinder set up with a 134 bore. I wanna run them back to back to see the difference. Im suspecting the Plano set up will have more HP. The Plano cylinder is actually one of the first cylinders sitting side by side the stock 02 cylinder.

Rode the bike today and it flat out rips. Probably the fastest 125cc stock bore I have ever ridden. I have had a few kx125 mods and strokers back in 03 and a few other cr 125 mods around 05. I am running a 13/53 which was good with the stock motor but probably will be changing to a 13/51 for this motor. I am happy with the motor overall except 100% c12 is gonna be an expensive ride every time. I will post final pics up once the new plastics and graphics are on. I didn't spend much money on the wheels and stuff because I put it all into the motor and gaining hp.

Thanks. Quick update. I have rode the bike a few more times. It is very fast for a stock bore. Only complaint is after about two laps the stock clutch begins to fade. I went a head and order Hinson steel plates and their high heat 250f springs. I guess the next option would be full Hinson kit. Was trying to not go that route but, I may have too. Open to suggestions of any one has any for the clutch. Haven't had time to put all the new plastic and graphics on due to work. I will try and get em on and post pics soon.

Bike looks great!

I've been told that the Hinson clutch plates are better than normal plates, from either a coating or some type of heat treating type process. I know, not very specific on my part, but it came from a source I have excellent faith in. I simply can't remember exactly why they are better, just that they are better.
