Any reason why he said it needs to be replaced?

If you do replace it, it's pretty straight forward, the biggest pain is bleeding the line. Just take your time and you will be all set.

Here's show to video from TWMX:

Not really sure why it needs to be replaced. He said there's no clutch right now.

If it's like the brakes, could air have got in there?

Messaged the seller to ask why he thinks the slave cylinder is bad.

Guess I'll wait till I get home before I order the part. Then I'll check to see if there's fluid, then get a syringe and bleed them.

Here's our conversation about why he thinks it needs replacing:

Me:
question on that slave cylinder. What is it that made you say it needs to be replaced? Is all the fluid leaking out there?

Seller:
because the clutch isnt holding pressure. ive already replaced the master cylinder

master cylinder rebuild has 1 ride on it

Me:
So it's loosing fluid?

Seller:

no it doesnt loose fluid. its not able to build pressure because it slips past the oring in the master cylinder

apparently you can get the oring from a hydrolic shop, but im not sure how to take apart the slave cylinder.

ktm made it to where they want you to just buy a whole new slave cylinder
-------------------------------------------------

If the fluid is still in the master cylinder, could he be correct? Or is it air possibly?

He said be rebuilt the master cylinder, says the master cylinder needs rebuilt, and somehow the slave cylinder is bad?
Try bleeding it first. Could just be air.

The old "it only needs one silly little o-ring which is super cheap and easy to replace... but I just can't seem to find the time or money to be bothered" dirtbike selling technique.

Had a buddy one time, bought a bike. Seller said "oh it needs a new clutch cable...I even bought one, but I just don't have the time to put it on." Buddy got the bike with the cable. Put it on. Guess what, you'll be very shocked, I am sure, to learn that did not fix the clutch. Turned out "needs a new cable" was a euphemism for "needs everything from the plates to the basket replaced.

Tried my best to bleed it, not the best at bleading stuff, and it seems the same.

Tried bleeding by attaching a tube to the slave cylinder and then ran a couple ounces of fluid from the master cylinder. Didn't work

Then tried disconnecting the slave cylinder and pushing on the center to clear any air out the master cylinder. Didn't seem to work either...

Pull the slave off, when you pull the lever does the ball push out at all?

IMO, take the bike to a local KTM dealer and have em fix it. Your wallet probably won't be happy, but do you really wanna keep screwing around with a bike you just bought? Ain't nobody got time for that, it's time to ride.

When I take the slave cylinder off and pull the clutch lever the entire silver part and ball move push out a small amount

Basket is pretty notched. Think this is the problem?

Trying to find the right size socket to get the basket off then try to file it

That basket is very notched and, yes, that will definitely cause the clutch to drag badly (i.e. to not disengage completely).

Holy shit that's bad. Don't bother with a file, just go new.

The inner backet has one small piece missing as seen in the picture. Does this have to be replaced?

Cheapest backet I found were wiseco ones for $170. These ok? Anyone have a used one for sale?

Inner basket needs replaced as well.
How's the pressure plate look? Fibers? Steels?
