I have a chance to pick up some KYB A kit suspension at a great price, and I was just looking to hear from some people who have ridden it. I'm just wondering how it reacts differently, or what about it you like/dislike. I'm currently running factory connection stuff on my KX450F so I'm not sure if it's worth the upgrade. Thanks!

It seems like when I get my suspension set where I feel like it works fairly well everywhere, it bottoms off flat landers. Or when I get it to handle big hits well it works like crap through the chop. $1800 is what he wants for it, which isn't bad considering it's over 7 grand new. It's the stuff he was running on his Atomic Honda's last year. I'm not sure how many hours are on it.

Suspension can only handle so much......there is a limit......bottoming when flat landing is what I would consider past that limit.

I had a rider in South Carolina named John Winslow that was complaining about the same thing. I heard from other riders his complaint was from over jumping a big double by 25 feet and flat landing into a sand whooped out straight.

After running my Sky Force Racing Suspension he sent it to Pro Circuit.....same complaints......sent it to Factory Connection......same complaint. A few years later he came up to me at Buds Creek and apologized and said he was exceeding the limitations of the suspension.

It will be interesting to hear if there is a more advanced bottoming system in the A kit suspension.

Doesn't the $900.00 Fox rear shock have a adjustable bottom out circuit in it to solve exactly what you are complaining about. Not sure about their fork mods but the shock looked pretty interesting. Plus it would be new and sprung/valved for you and your bike, correct?

I actually don't know anything about the fox shock. But that's a good point. I'm going to do some research on it. Thanks.

$1800.00 for real A kit suspension is a great deal it does work better than production stuff some riders can tell some can't. I thought hondas last year ran Showa just make sure it fits, and get the triple clamps.

Thanks, honda's did run showa last season. I'm not sure why they ran the KYB stuff. There actually running showa stuff on there Kawasaki's this year. I think they just like to be different! Supposedly they will bolt right up to the stock triple clamps, you just have to change out the bottom so the axle will fit.

If its true Showa A kit suspension it will not work in stock clamps the fork tubes are bigger, I have both stock and A kit and the tube size is different thats why you get the clamps with the forks. Also most kit suspension is Showa thats what PC sells for most bikes. I would double check every thing before you buy.

Good to know! I think I'm going to pass on it to be honest. I don't think I'm getting the most out of the revalved stock suspension.
