Well since August I've been dealing with a knee injury. Been off of work since September with no light at the end of the tunnel for now. I sold both my 06 Rm250 and my 05 YZ125 to pay my truck payments. I know what you're thinking, but I'm 18 years old and still in high school so I have to be responsible lol. Now I'm even considering if I want to continue racing next year. Then it came to me. Why not get a 1996-97 cr125 or a 1985 CR250 and race it? I've kind of lost the fun factor of motocross, so maybe my last effort of going to the races with a old honda! What do you guys think?

i rode a 93 and 94 cr 125 and they are rippers! super light and throwable, but still hit hard for what they are. i also got to ride a 98 cr125 for a few weeks and liked it alot better then the steel frames. the 98 handled alot better and i just felt super comfortable on it. sold the 98 for a 03 rm250 and i instantly regretted it. to answer your question i think it would be awesome if you brought an older 2 stroke back to life.

Go for the 88-87 CR 250 if you have a choice, both have cartridge forks and the 87 has a rear disc brake.

I'm restoring an 88 CR 125 now for a fun bike and maybe vintage racing when I get back to the states.
