Noticed this part hanging down under my fuel tank when I was out riding last. First I thought it must be an electrical connection but when I pulled it out it has no metal running through it and is completly rubber.

Looks like an o-ring seal to me, but I cant figure out how it would have ended up there? Could it be from the headseat bearings?

Thanks in advance

Second pic just for reference. This is where it was lodged.

You didn't say which model bike you have, but this is from a 250 2 stroker this part number & description 20 0770730020 O-RING 73,00X2,00 VITON. I don't know how it would come out unless someone had the head off. I hope this will help you.

The headset bearing seal is a flat seal not a o-ring so it isn't that,I'm not sure what that is from. Maybe is was thrown up with the dirt roost off another bike and made its way under your tank? What year and model KTM?

Sorry guys 14 150sx.

I could not see any logical place under the tank that would require an o ring like that, which made me think it might be from the headset as they are about the same size. (Obviously I have no idea how it could get from the headset to under the tank.)

Checked my gas tank cap and it is a bit to big.

Motoxombo I had thought that maybe it was kicked up from the ground. Seems unlikely but stranger things ave happened.

Cheers

that just holds the wires from the coil, you can use a zip tie instead. it goes from one side of the tank mount under and over to the other tank mount holding the coil wires from dangling.

I just had my 12 sxf apart and can't recall anything like that which would just fall apart. The headset seal is more square looking, like stated above, not a round o-ring.

I was thinking maybe some kind of airbox seal on the sx? But if that's not it, most likey roost garbage.

actually i think it holds the throttle cable up as well to make a nice smooth curve from carb to throttle. i think thats all it holds. i'll send over a picture tomorrow morning, had my frame off and took some pictures so i didnt forget wiring.
