I have a aftermarket exhaust on my bike, fc350 but I have a air leak in where the header and mid pipe fit. I tried Hi-Temp. silicone it worked great for one ride but it has so much play there. I don't know what other options to try but it's noticeable enough when riding coming into corners or let off Slight popping but more of issue is the idealing up on its own from getting to much air. At times causes me to blow out ruts when caught off guard.

This union should be as tight as possible. Is it a full system? I have never seen an aftermarket full system that was loose at any junction. It will, as you have seen, cause a backfire. On a stock system if the header seal or the header to muffler seal is bad it will always do this.

I would recommend calling the exhaust mfg. and ask them......it's their baby.
