Crank rod question

I have my drz400S apart right now, It has 20k miles on it. The rod has noticable side to side play, but no up&down play. Is side to side play okay on the crank? I cant find anything in my manual about it. Thanks!

Do you have a factory service manual? There should be a spec for that you can measure with a feeler gauge. On my CR250 the max is .040

Side to side is ok but not to much..
Like captmoto mentioned you should measure it with a feeler gauge, You will find the tolerance spec in the service manual.

But if the crank has 20K miles on it ? maybe it's time to change the crank while the engine is apart ???
