I was riding last weekend and the engine started making a weird noise. I brought it into the shop and they tore down the engine and found the oil pump had gone and basically taken my engine and transmission with it. The bill to fix it is 6k which is out of the question.
My question is what to do with it now. The engine is completely disassembled so I basically have a rolling chassis. I have a few parts on it I can probably sell (Rocket exhaust, Rekluse Torqdrive but I haven't looked at close enough to see if there was any damage to it, hotcams but need to look closer at that as well). I have an 03' CR250 I've been slowly restoring and wondering if any suspension parts are interchangeable since I need to rebuild both front and rear suspension on it. Is there anything else of value I can get out of this so it's not a total loss?
Any advice is appreciated!

In my experience, parting out a bike is a bit of a hassle and takes 6 months +. eBay can be great but can also be a major headache. Taking the time to create the dozens of listings, potential buyer disputes, shipping issues, . Plus eBay & paypal fees add up quick (13% on total selling + shipping price).
If you are trying to get rid of it, I would put it up for sale locally as a "mechanic special". Lots of people, myself included, are like a moth to a flame with these projects. Honestly, these ads are much more attractive than the dozens of used four strokes in the $4k price range. I would offer you $1500 the way it is and I feel I would be getting a pretty good deal. I would expect you could get anywhere from $1500 - $2000 for it. Be prepared for lots of low ball offers, just ignore those.
Another thing going for you is two-stroke fanatics are chomping at the bit to find a nice roller for a CR 500/250/125 build. It's also the right time of the year to start a winter project.
Alternatively, there is a brand new complete motor on eBay for $3,700.
